Our Mission

At Barre Bootcamp, we believe that leading a healthy, active, and balanced life is important to overall well being.  Self care is equally important to one's overall health and happiness. 

​

We have all been through the hectic day to day life, and it's imminent, especially in the high-tech world we live in today.  Most days, we get caught up in the busy-ness of our daily lives that we 'forget' to take care of ourselves, until one day we feel 'out of balance and overwhelmed'.  I have been there, 'hit a wall' and have experienced that feeling of 'losing the core of who I was' because I was so overworked and out of balance... that is, until one day, I re-prioritized and re-focused that energy on me, and taking care of myself.  And, that is exactly why we have co-founded Barre Bootcamp.

 

Our Mission at Barre Bootcamp is to create an environment where we nurture and give our bodies the love and care it deserves, while giving back to the Community and making a positive impact to the world we live in.  We have combined elements of nature, with movement, mobility, breath & meditation.  We provide virtual Barre classes, outdoor mobility/functional/active recovery sessions, and Wellness Retreats to help Reconnect, Reset, Rebalance, and Restore our bodies, so we can perform better in everyday life, and accomplish whatever we wish to strive for...

Sonia

Barre Bootcamp's Fitness Instructor & Events Specialist

Sonia has been a dancer, musician, and choreographer her entire life.   She believes in healthy living through fitness, eating whole types of foods, active recovery, and having a positive mindset.  Her love of blending music with movement, as well as her passion for positively influencing others has guided her towards her Fitness and Wellness Journey. 

 

She teaches various fitness formats ranging from Bar-less Barre, Barre Sculpt, Barre BLAST, Barre BURN Xpress, Barre Fusion, Barre Bootcamp, and POUND Rockout Workout®

 

She is the Co-Founder of Barre Bootcamp, as well as the beloved Barre Queen teaching at Barre Bootcmp, Bay Clubs, Apple, and Stanford.  She also leads Kids & Family POUND Rockout Workout® programs to inspire kids to start their love of movement early on.  Sonia's workouts are designed with everyone in mind, all fitness levels are welcomed.  Come join her for Virtual Barre classes, Beach Mobility & Active Recovery Sessions, Park Mobility & Functional Training sessions, or book her for yoPrivate Fitness Parties, or Family Fun Fitness Days.

Sonia is also the Event Specialist and creative talent behind Barre Bootcamp's Wellness Retreats and Experiences.  The purpose of these retreats are to reset, restore and re-balance the body thru interactive sessions focused on Active Recovery & Mobility, Movement & Fitness, and Breath & Meditation.  Only when our bodies are in balance can we optimize performance in all aspects of life, and this is exactly why we started Barre Bootcamp.

Mike has always been fascinated by movement prior to his career as a massage therapist.  As a kid, he would be transfixed by the fanciful physical expression of old kung fu movies, and the various powers of professional athletes.  This interest led to a jack of all trades approach to his sporting endeavors, from swimming, skateboarding, cycling, and combative sports. 

 

This multi-sport interest also introduced Mike to a variety of injuries, which led him to a new field of interest, injury recovery.  More specifically Mike's mind gravitated to the concepts of massage therapy and structural integration. 

​

Mike's professional massage career started in 1996 at the National Holistic Institute in Emeryville, California.  After completing that year long course, he studied the Anatomy Trains protocol and the assessive techniques of that myofacial system.  The philosophy behind Mike's work is to read the body gently and apply progressively focused technique to establish an effective direction for each session. 

​

With over 25 years of experience as a Certified Massage Therapist, Mike is very knowledgeable of the body, and its intricacies. He is the Technical Expert & Trainer in Active Recovery and Mobility at Barre Bootcamp.  Come join Mike for a Beach Mobility session, Small Group or Private Outdoor Active Recovery/Mobility/Functional Training session.
